Team Beachbody Coach Summit 2018!

I'm feeling a massive mixture of sadness and excitement as I sit here writing this. There are a couple of tears being shed too.

Today I was supposed to be rolling into Indianapolis for the biggest event in my businesses calendar, Summit. I had my tickets ready, my hotel booked, I was booked into all of the workshop sessions and the super-trainer workouts. I was pumped to be a part of something I’d only ever dreamed about.
But recent events mean that I haven’t been able to get out there.
And I won’t lie, it’s really hard to swallow. I mean, I’ve only been planning this for about 3 years. No, really! For 3 years. And I won’t be there.



I have known that I wanted to be a coach for the longest time. Waaaaay before the company even made any murmurings about coming to the UK. I was using the products and I fell in love with them. They worked, they were different to anything out there and they fitted my busy life as a working mum perfectly. I loved the products so much so that I took it upon myself to connect into the North American coach network. What I encountered there was entirely unexpected and it completely blew me away.

I found a community of thousands of coaches who were changing people’s lives every single day. Helping them through the minefield of nutrition and exercise, giving people confidence and support to achieve things they never thought themselves capable of, helping people get healthier and lead more fulfilling lives.
Giving people HOPE.

These people were friendly, positive, supportive, uplifting, go-getting, action taking, sharing, helpful ——— and I was HOOKED.

From Day 1 I wanted to be a part of that community. I KNEW I WOULD be a part of that community. I felt the passion so deep inside me that I KNEW I would make it happen.

I kept myself in the loop, I networked and I made sure I’d be the first to know when the coaching opportunity was coming to the UK.

I spent all of my spare time researching the company. I researched and I researched. What their mission was, why they were doing it, how they were doing it. Was it legit, was it a pyramid scheme, were these weight-loss results real?
I learned about all of the products, the coaching process, how coaches were rewarded for helping people.
I learnt everything I could over the course of a couple of years. I watched the recordings of the annual Summit gathering and I got excited.
This was the real deal.

I spent my spare time following coaches on social media, deciding which individuals and teams I felt most connected to, whose mission resonated most strongly with me, who had the training and systems in place that I liked best, whose approach and personality I clicked with, who I wanted to partner with in my business when the time finally came when I could become a Coach.

I started running week-long online nutrition and exercise groups - reaching out to support people who needed help.

I was ready.

When it was finally announced in March 2017 that the coaching opportunity would be coming to the UK later that year I was more than ready.
I had chosen the team I was going to join. I’d met them in person when they came over to Birmingham that summer and had cemented the fact.
I KNEW this was what I was meant to do.

On the day the coaching opportunity went live in October 2017 I was waiting. I sat at my laptop counting down the minutes and then, as the clock ticked over and we went live, I became a Coach.
I was almost bursting with an emotional mixture of excitement and pride as one of the UK Founding Coaches for the company, after all this time waiting.

Now I could get to help people reach their weight-loss, health and fitness goals officially, using ground-breaking products, backed by a company I wholeheartedly believed in and a hand-picked team of women who set my soul alight.
Now I could make a difference. Even if it was just to one person, I would be making a difference.


Our annual Coach Summit is a humungous event. Kind of like a conference, girls trip, family reunion, personal development retreat, business and leadership training event, the Academy Awards, and the Olympics all rolled into one!

I was going to be there in the whirlwind of it all, where my heart and soul would be blown wide open with the energy, emotion, knowledge, and sheer joy of spending time with some of my new favourite people, immersed in learning and sharing and living what we're most passionate about - growing and learning and helping other people.


Last year I watched Summit from my laptop. The events were streamed live from New Orleans and I sat up into the night and watched the opening and closing ceremonies in real time. I heard the announcements, saw the new products, celebrated my team becoming the top team in the company for the 3rd year in a row, cried as I heard the stories of the Beachbody Challenge finalists and felt inspired by what they had achieved.

This year I will do the same.
My company are world-class at hosting these events. It's going to be immense.
My timeline is blowing up with pictures as all the coaches are arriving in Indy. The welcome banners at the airport, the stages being built for the ceremonies, the smiling, excited selfies.
I will be there in spirit and I will watch with pleasure as my new friends and teammates experience this crazy event. I will celebrate right alongside them as my team becomes the top team for the 4th year in a row and I will be full of pride for what this company achieves.
We make a difference every single day - We Save Lives.

Next year, you guys, I WILL be there. Wild horses won’t be able to keep me away.
Maybe you’ll come too and we can experience it for the first time together. I can’t think of anything I would love more than to be able to share it with you.

Avocado Courgette Alfredo with Grilled Chicken

I just HAD to share this recipe with you guys. It's just one of the delicious recipes from my Nutritional Mindset Makeover program and it was a total hit with me and my husband!


I always felt that courgettes were a bit of a funny texture and didn't taste of anything. Well, I can tell you that this recipe totally blew that notion away!

Avocado Courgette Alfredo with Grilled Chicken (Serves 2)


INGREDIENTS:

1/2 medium ripe avocado, mashed
1/4 cup reduced fat (2%) plain Greek yoghurt
1/4 tsp ground black pepper (divided use)
1/4 tsp garlic powder (divided use)
1/4 tsp onion powder (or onion granules)
4 medium courgettes, spiralised (or cut into thin strips using a vegetable peeler)
2 chicken breasts, butterflied
Seasoning for chicken (as preferred - I use combinations of onion granules, garlic powder, salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, smoked paprika - whatever I fancy that day!)
2 tsp grated parmesan
Oil spray


DIRECTIONS:
  1. Combine avocado, yoghurt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder/granules in a medium bowl. Mix well. Set aside.
  2. Spay chicken with a small about of oil and sprinkle over your favourite seasonings to taste. Rub the seasoning and oil onto the chicken to coat the surface.
  3. Heat a large non-stick griddle or frying pan, over a medium/high heat.
  4. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  5. Remove the chicken from the pan, place on a plate and loosely cover with foil. Allow to rest.
  6. Add courgette to pan and cook, stirring frequently for 2-3 minutes. Drain any excess liquid from the pan.
  7. Add avocado mixture. Cook, stirring frequently for 1-2 minutes until mixture is heated through.
  8. Divide courgette mixture evenly between two plates. Top with the grilled chicken and some parmesan.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy!

What is 2B Mindset?



I've been getting a lot of questions about what my new program, 2B Mindset is all about! So I'm about to give you all the details on this fantastic program along with the most commonly asked questions and concerns so that you can decide whether or not this program would be a good fit for you!

What Is 2B Mindset?



2B Mindset is unlike any other Beachbody product or program ever created before. Can I access 2B Mindset on Beachbody On Demand?

2B Mindset is on it’s own platform, separate from Beachbody On Demand. It is called our Nutrition Platform. You will purchase this product and you will have forever access to the resources.


When is 2B Mindset Launching?

2B Mindset launches on 2nd May 2018 on the Nutrition tab on Beachbody On Demand. On 4th June 2018 2B Mindset will also launch the Beachbody Nutrition + App. Anyone who purchases 2B Mindset will have access to stream the program on the nutrition tab of Beachbody On Demand and also via the app.

Can I exercise while doing 2B Mindset?

Yes you can exercise, but it is not required. It is considered extra credit.

If you are going to do a program like 80 Day Obsession you can choose to forego the 80 Day Obsession nutrition plan and do the 2B Mindset eating instead! It's totally up to you!

Can you do 2B Mindset if you are pregnant or breastfeeding?

2B Mindset is a weight loss program. Since pregnant mothers should be gaining weight and not losing weight, it is not advised that they follow 2B Mindset during pregnancy. For breastfeeding mothers, La Leche League International advises to wait at least two months before making any drastic effort to lose weight in order to allow your body to recover and ensure a steady milk supply. Keep in mind that breastfeeding women may naturally lose one to four pounds per month simply due to the amount of energy required to nurse in the first place.

One year on.......

Exactly one year ago I did something that was the bravest and biggest thing I’d ever done.
I knew it was coming, it had been coming for a while. A combination of events that had set me on a path where there was only one real option left for me. And then one day, on a Friday afternoon at work, mid-conversation, it became obvious that this was finally it. The end of the line. 




One year ago I handed in my notice at my workplace of almost 25 years. To leave my well paid job, to walk away from the place that I’d spent all my adult years, more than half my life, to leave behind so many wonderful people that I’d had the pleasure to know over those years.
To walk away from something that I was so very familiar with, that had taught me so much, and head straight into the unknown.
I had no plans, nothing in place for me to transfer to and I had no idea what the future would look like.

What I DID know was that it was time.
Time to stand up for what I believed in.
Time to draw a line in the sand and say “enough is enough”.
Time to put myself and my wellbeing first.
Time to put the most important people in my life before my job.
Time to be brave.

I had considered this day for so long, imagining my early retirement - never resigning as such (I always thought I’d be there until the bitter end!), and I always thought it would be the hardest thing I’d ever do.
I was wrong. It was strikingly easy.
That’s how I know it was right. 

One year on and I am so grateful that I made that decision. If I hadn’t I’m not sure what would have happened.
I DO know that my anxiety would be through the roof. I’d still be trying to hide my stress induced dry-reaching during meetings (gross I know, but true story) and running to the loo in case it became more.
I’d still be sitting in my car after I’d parked each morning, attempting to cover up the fact that tears had been streaming down my face just seconds before, trying to pluck up the courage to walk through the gate and up to my office with a smile on my face.
I’d still be trying to leave my stresses and anxiety at the work gates but failing miserably and losing my temper with my husband and children over the tiniest of things.
I’d still be trying to find that elusive balance of being the perfect wife, mother, employee, sister and friend.
I'd still be a dulled-down, empty version of myself.

I had no chance. I know that now and I knew it on the day I resigned.
Maybe you’ve got it all figured out - and more power to you! But I didn’t. I had no idea how I was supposed to fit in all my work, stay late, pick up my children from school on time instead of leaving them stranded in the rain, get to the school plays, cook dinner (heck, I couldn’t even manage to get any food in the cupboards!), let alone manage my own well-being. Something had to give and it was ME.

While you're busy fighting, the universe has this clever thing it does. It makes you re-evaluate. I know you’ve all done it at some time or another, because I know you've all had your fights. We realise that the most important things in life are our loved ones, our relationships, our health and our wellbeing.

We all KNOW this! It’s not new, but we continually ignore it. Why do we DO that??? Maybe it’s because we’re not brave enough, maybe we’re afraid of upsetting the status quo, maybe we feel the need to have everything laid out nicely. I don't know.

But what I will tell you friends, is that it’s cool to be brave.
It’s empowering to stand up for what you believe in.
It’s invigorating to take back control, to start putting first all the things and the people that are important to you. To actually find calm in your world.

Please don’t ever sell yourself short. If you are struggling only YOU can decide to make the change. If you’re unhappy you CAN find your happiness again. You just have to be brave.

YOU are worthy of happiness and peace.... every single ounce of me hopes you achieve it.

February Updates!

Can you believe it’s February already? January seems to have just flown by, but I’m loving seeing the sun come out more and the blue skies returning!

2018 began strong with the launch of our brand new fitness and nutrition program the 80 Day Obsession by Autumn Calabrese. Thousands of people across the UK, US and Canada started with their Day 1 on 15th January, by signing up and joining support & accountability groups and they are currently smashing out their workouts, along with sticking to the nutrition plan.

I’ve been blown away by the results that I’ve seen so far - they’re phenomenal! Even better is the fantastic sense on excitement, support and community that’s coming out of this! I am so excited to see where this goes and all of the fabulous results everyone will be getting.

For me, I can say that this workout is challenging my body, my mind and my energy level. It has taught me more about nutrition than I had ever imagined, it has made me dig in and stay accountable even when I didn’t want to!

I can’t tell you how proud I am of the ladies in my 80 day Obsession accountability group. They've fully embraced this program and are doing so well! We’re all busy doing our workouts, cheering each other on and supporting each other with tips, recipes and inspiration. We’re having LOTS of fun too!
